About Me (and my books!)

headshot_jayne

My name is Jayne and when people ask me what I do, I tell them it depends on which hat I am wearing.  So that my friends, explains my chronic issue with “hat hair!” As a devoted mother of three awesome kids,  the wife of one hubby for 23 years, a published children’s author, a freelance writer, a motivational speaker, a student of life and a dancing queen,  I am one who takes huge sips from a tall glass of creative juice while basking in the sunshine of  family and friends.  So why the blog? As a passionate mother faced with the common “juggle struggle” I want to impart life lessons  and exchange insightful experiences that can nurture one another along the way.  While the road to success is always under construction,  I look upon this blog as a visceral compass intended to give its readers direction!

MY BOOKS

Shirt for Dessert tells the tale of Marley Barley, who sucks on her clothes. Why does she do it? Nobody knows! This rhyming children’s book tells the story of a little girl who would rather climb the jungle gym than the food pyramid! Find out how Marley’s Mom gets her to stop eating her clothes…and start eating her vegetables, er almost. Illustrated by Janis Dougherty, Shirt for Dessert is a funny romp about a unique girl with a common problem. Buy the book on Amazon.com!

If Hurricanes Were Candy Canes,  my first children’s book, was written to respond to children’s fears and concerns and to serve as a coping device in the devastating aftermath  of Hurricane Andrew in 1992.  Raising financial support through its proceeds and emotional support through its message of rebuilding and hope,  If Hurricanes Were Candy Canes continues to gently embrace families with comfort and joy.

JUST AROUND THE CORNER

With  a children’s book series underway,  a sitcom in the making,  a memoir completed and a Psychological Thriller ready for submission,  the time just seems to be “write!”  Writing is what I do.  Warming hearts is who I am.
